July 2020 Newsletter

Thank you for taking the pledge.  Each time you refrain from using a plastic bottle, cup or straw, you are helping the earth and its inhabitants.  Please share this email with friends and family to help us spread the word.

Thadeus Ragan (@thadeusr) and Ingrid Garcia (@ingridgarcia2.0) use aluminum instead of plastic to stay hydrated.  Not only is it more environmentally friendly, it is better for your health.  Thank you Thadeus and Ingrid.  Your choices really make a difference.

What are some things you are doing to combat plastic?  Email a photo to admin@noplasticdrinks.com and you might be featured in our next newsletter.
China is no longer importing our plastic rubbish.  As a result, recycling has become prohibitively expensive and many cities are now dumping their recyclables into landfills, or even worse, incinerating it.  The solution is to stop consuming so much plastic.  Click here to read more.

We appreciate you joining us on the quest for cleaner oceans. We invite you to submit a short 30 second video sharing something you’ve done to keep your pledge to reduce single use plastic. We’d love to share your clip on our social channels to motivate others to do the same.

If you’re not yet following us, you can find us on Facebook @noplasticdrinks and Instagram @no_plasticdrinks. Submit your video file by replying to this email, include your mailing address and we will send you one of our pins so you can look fly while you keep spreading the word.
San Francisco is leading the way to a more sustainable future. San Francisco International Airport (SFO) has banned all sales of single use plastic water bottles. In place of plastic bottles, vendors must sell or provide reusable aluminum, glass and certified compostable water bottles. Click here to read more.
San Francisco also has a goal of becoming zero waste by the end of 2020. That means little or no waste will be incinerated or end up in landfills. Instead, it will be recycled or composted. Click
